I’ve been using the L655 for a good 14 days now.
Filling the tanks was really very easy, quick and clean. But what I was most pleased about was finally to be able to forget about that annoying and overpriced ink cartridge rubbish!
As an all-in-one device it’s come into its own over the last few days. My verdict:
The build quality of the device:
The device in action:
Except for the small number of wishes that I’ve listed, the device really impressed me. The printer is very welcome to carry on its work in our office.
The Epson L655 is very well made, although that shouldn’t come as a surprise for a product in this category.
The package includes enough ink for 11,000 pages.
Whether the manufacturer’s promise can be fulfilled remains to be seen. I wasn’t able to print 11,000 pages in this short amount of time!
Filling the tanks is pretty straightforward. The bottles of ink are ready to fill the tanks in next to no time. The filling instructions in the package explain the individual steps simply and with clear illustrations.
If there’s anything left in the bottle after filling, you can seal this with a lid and store until the next fill.
Once the printer’s been filled with the black, cyan, magenta and yellow inks, you can connect to the power supply. On first use the printer’s nozzles are filled with ink. This can take up to 20 minutes.
But the first installation of the printer runs automatically and the steps are explained in the display.
Installing the software is also a piece of cake for any user!
If you follow the supplied brief instructions step by step the printer will soon be ready for work without any major hassle!
L655 offers the user a lot of options to send print, scan or fax orders. Via laptop/MacBook and smartphone, via WLAN or USB connection or remote access from on the road. You can also use the Epson online storage, which you can combine with services such as Google Drive. It’s also possible to send print orders via email to the printer.
Because the printer is always on standby, naturally even in sleep mode, you can connect to it from anywhere in the world and send orders to it. Also, the printer doesn’t need long to respond!
If you download the app “Epson iPrint” to your smartphone, you have various options for connecting to the printer. (Display the ink levels, online storage, scanning etc.) You can even record documents using the smartphone camera and print them directly. The online storage accesses the main clouds such as Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive etc.
I use the printer with an Apple MacBook, iPhone and iPad. And so far I’ve got no complaints. I’ve been able to send print orders to the L655 from every app.
The quality of the prints I’ve made so far can’t be faulted!
I’ve not yet been able to try out the fax function. But I’m sure it will work as well as the functions I have tested so far.
The printer’s scanner can be used as a flatbed scanner or via the document infeed. The pages are fed in quickly and cleanly. You can scan in either JPEG or PDF format. You can also decide if it should be saved in the online storage or on the computer.
For the home office and private users who need to print, scan and maybe even fax, I can only recommend it!!!"
I’m overwhelmed by the print volumes that you can achieve with the new ITS series. In my test of just under three weeks, I’ve not only comprehensively tested the Epson L486 but presented the whole experience on a video portal in a four-part test series. The level of performance this printer can produce was clear right from the first prints. I enjoyed testing this product and can unreservedly recommend it.
Special highlights for me were using it with my tablet and smartphone and the quality tests with the different types of paper. The only shortcoming that I found was: I couldn’t make a 10x15 print in 27 seconds that still looked “beautiful”. I’d had liked it if Epson had already provided a description in advance of how you have to put up with the setup for this.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Great printer with many functions, good build quality and vanishingly low printing costs.
Prints very economically and the replacement ink in bottles means you don’t have to buy expensive printer cartridges. That’s simple, cheap and environmentally friendly!
The printer also scans – which means you can quickly copy something – without the PC.
Good colour and photo printing and with the Epson app available from anywhere at any time.
Shoot photos with your mobile phone and print them while you’re already taking the next picture :-D
I’ve been testing the printer for two weeks now and think it’s brilliant! No more wasted paper, because I can print double-sided quite easily. And the best thing is... the PC doesn’t even need to be on for that. Simply control it from your mobile phone or via email and the printer prints! It couldn’t get any more convenient. I can heartily recommend it. The price is worth it!
Setup is very simple; filling the tanks is straightforward and quick. I’ve installed the printer on my PC, laptop, tablet and mobile phone; in each case it works brilliantly and quickly without problems. Printing via Epson Connect is also easy to understand. Using the special email address, emails plus attachments can be printed without any other software.
It completes copying and scanning jobs quickly and in a very good quality.
One negative observation is that the printer transmits vibrations to the desk during the printing process, which makes, e.g., the monitor wobble.
All in all, the printer can be highly recommended and is really worth the money.
Epson has developed a great printer here. Filling the cartridges and setting up the printer is child’s play. Very quick printing of black/white and colour pages. The quality of the print without major adjustment is faultless and very clean, whether only text or text with images. A4 size photo quality. Functionality with Wi-Fi and printing from on the road is ingenious. Simply download the app to your smartphone or tablet and you’re good to go.
I’ve now tested the new Epson L655 extensively.
Even though it’s slightly more expensive than other models, it’s definitely worth buying.
That’s because the innovative ink tanks in combination with the really good value ink bottles enable an unrivalled print price to be attained.
I’m completely won over by the quality and speed of the printer; other models can’t compete with it.
And the variety of functions rounds off the complete picture.
The Epson iPrint app in particular makes printing via smartphone and tablet super easy.
I also find the duplex printing and scanning function, which enables you to print double-sided without turning over the sheet, outstanding.
I’d definitely buy the printer again.
After unpacking it from the very good packaging, I was able to turn the device on as the next step and I was slightly concerned about that. Why? Because setting up with Wi-Fi hasn't always worked faultlessly with other devices. I was to be disabused of this notion. The device started and then led me through the initialisation. This process is described as taking 20 minutes, but for me it only took just under 15 minutes. Afterwards I started the Wi-Fi assistant (I use a home network with a router). In a few seconds, after entering the network key, I was connected with the router. On my PC (Windows 10) the printer was immediately visible under “devices and printers” and I could get started with printing and scanning.
The quality of both printing and scanning is very good, which pleasantly surprised me.
The normal print quality of text pages is very good, but no different from alternative devices. However, the highlight comes when printing photos. I inserted photo paper and printed a holiday photo. The result was brilliant and couldn’t be told apart from a professionally printed photo. And the whole thing takes place at high speed at a pleasant sound volume. The device also scans very quietly.
Printing from an SD card also functions very straightforwardly. Insert the card and select the photo symbol in the display. Afterwards the pictures are displayed and you can either print them all or only selected pictures. This function couldn’t be implemented more simply. Even connecting a smartphone worked without any trouble after I’d installed the “Epson iPrint” app, so that I can now print in excellent quality from a mobile device faultlessly.
It’s two thumbs up from me!
I’ve been testing the printer for two weeks now and am delighted. The supplied ink bottles can be quickly poured into the tanks. In the beginning there was still the odd inky finger, but that’s a small price to pay for the cheap refill bottles. I say that because that was an issue with our previous printer from another brand, which was very expensive and sadly ran out of ink very quickly. It meant that you’d consider three times what you printed. Here, that’s no problem at all. The setup is very quick and also trouble-free. I find the Wi-Fi function brilliant; it means you don’t need cables. Printing is very quick and even printing from a smartphone is child’s play; simply download the Epson app. I like that a lot.
The colours come out brilliantly. All in all a super device, which I’d definitely recommend to others.
This printer is a multi-talent.
I’ve been using the L486 for two weeks now and am still overwhelmed by how easy it is to operate. Initially I had doubts I could integrate it into my network without getting help from someone, but these were dispelled half an hour after reading the accompanying booklet, and the printer worked. Filling the ink tanks is simple and on top of that I can report that I didn’t have inky fingers the first time (as you get when changing cartridges). Scanning and copying worked precisely, printing was first class and it’s very easy to control each action and also extremely well visualised by the display. It’s like you’re always hand held and supported through the program. Printing from an SD card also works without problems. In my opinion the sound volume is also pleasant. At least, I’ve had a lot of noisier devices in the past.
This product works very precisely; the pictures are also very good.
I’m genuinely delighted, because it prints extremely quickly and with intense colours. Scanning is child’s play, as is copying. I also like it that you can fill the ink tank with printing ink easily... My highlight, however, is the Wi-Fi and the fact that you can print from a laptop, smartphone or tablet.
We’ve had the printer in operation for one week now at our place. It’s print quality is super. Simple installation and operation, quick prints and it’s fast even when printing photos and colour prints, without any lack of quality.
A really impressive printer!
Prints quickly and quietly and with good results.
I’ve printed more than 500 pages and according to the ink display hardly any ink has been used so far.
There weren’t any major problems when filling the ink tanks either. Tip: use a tissue when taking out the bottles, so your hands stay clean.
The scanning and copying functions are also super. The direct scanning to PDF function is practical.
Colour prints are of exceptional quality, with the only exception being that large black areas are covered in stripes at normal quality.
I’m impressed by the printer, despite the high price, because the cheap printing costs mean this pays off!
It’s fascinating how quickly printing technology is developing. Simple installation and refilling procedure. Although the purchase price is rather high, other costs are pleasantly low. The option of using the printer from anywhere is also very important for me.
The new “small” Epson makes a really good impression.
Filling the inks is very straightforward, although of course you need to be a bit careful.
Print quality looks decent (both B/W and colour) and will probably last a really long time.
The important thing is that the ink hopefully doesn’t dry out in the tanks, but unfortunately I can’t yet tell if that’s the case.
Connection and setup are child’s play; WLAN printing works faultlessly.
The black is decently dark and the colours look very clear.
I personally don’t like the paper feed; from above you always have the disadvantage the sheets bend relatively quickly.
I’d have preferred to see double-sided printing; it’s a real shame it doesn’t have that.
Otherwise I’m very satisfied with the device; it does what it’s supposed to and I find the idea of getting rid of cartridges brilliant!
Oh yes, and these days it also has to look good!
So far a brilliant printer with super functions!
Very good office jack-of-all-trades with four separate ink tanks for filling by the user. Print and scan quality are very good and the range of functions, including duplex, fax, WLAN, LAN, AirPrint etc., is remarkable.
Replacement ink can be bought cheaply and filled easily (I would still wear disposable gloves through, because the odd drop can be spilled).
The only downside: at 150 sheets, the paper compartment is a little too small...
The printer can be brilliantly packed up at home. Filling the tanks is super easy and there’s no spillage.
As a teacher I print a lot of materials for individualised learning, including a lot of large colour pictures. There was no smearing in these, and no funny lines in the picture. In other words, it all looked very nice. The colours also corresponded to those I could see on the screen.
The colours look very nice even when laminated.
What I particularly like is that I could print via WLAN from all the devices that we own: iPad, iPhone and various PCs. It’s super practical!
The copy function also works perfectly.
I can heartily recommend this printer.
Very good build quality.
You can print on both sides thanks to the duplex function.
The auto-feed scanner for multiple sheets is pretty fast.
The flatbed, however, is significantly faster.
The scans and copies are very good. You have to put up with a few smears with the pictures (of course, it’s not a photo printer), but they’re still very good.
Filling the ink tanks is child’s play.
The number of ports is amazing.
They include USB, network and WLAN, and it can also be controlled via a smartphone app.
On initial installation it takes a bit longer. 20 minutes for filling the tank in the print heads but in this time you can get to work on the PDF manual and have a browse.
But after the wait, installing the rest of the settings is very fast.
I’ve been very POSITIVELY surprised by the Epson L655.
