Personal Data held in Epson's records for management of competitions

This statement provides information about your personal data stored in Epson's records for the management of competitions.

Epson shall collect and retain:

  • Basic contact information such as your name, e-mail address, and telephone number provided by you when registering for the competition via the dedicated website or social media

  • Further information regarding the competition you are taking part in if required by the rules.

  • Information gathered from Epson’s own systems about your use of Epson websites and about Epson’s interactions with you. This includes information gathered through cookies1 and other similar tools.

“Epson” (the ‘controller’ of the information) is:

The purpose of processing personal data about you:

(‘Processing’ means anything Epson does with the information about you including gathering it, holding it, using it and disclosing it.)

The only purpose for which Epson will process your personal data is to manage the competition in which you participate.

The legal basis for this purpose is your consent, you provided when you voluntary registered to participate to the competition and for Epson to execute the competition according to the terms.

Epson will retain your personal data for a period of 3 months from the completion of the management of the competition in question. Subsequently, the data will be deleted unless it is necessary to retain it in accordance with legal requirements relating to banking or tax. After this period some information may be retained, but only anonymously or as part of archived records.

Epson may use third parties to perform some processing activities on its behalf. Some or all of your personal data may be disclosed to such third parties, however they are only permitted to use the disclosed data for the purposes for which Epson holds your data and in accordance with Epson’s directions.

As a “data subject” you have the legally recognised right to request Epson to access to and rectify or erase personal data or to restrict the processing of data concerning yourself, or to object to its processing, as well as the right to data portability and the right to submit a complaint to a supervisory authority.

This statement applies only to information in Epson's records for the management of competitions. If Epson processes information about you in other databases, you will be notified separately.

Registration and participation in the competition are allowed only to users of age.

If you are located outside the EU, Epson will transfer some of your personal data, outside the EU, to Epson group staff in the region concerned and to contractors in that region used by Epson to provide services. This will be subject to the protections required by law.
