Description
If your printer already appears in Printers & Scanners (or Print & Scan / Print & Fax on older macOS), select it and click the – button to remove it first. Then add the printer driver using the steps below.
Solution
- From the Apple menu, select System Preferences (or System Settings on current macOS) > Printers & Scanners (or Print & Scan / Print & Fax).
- Click the + button.
- Select Add Printer or Scanner.
-
Select your Epson printer from the list.
-
Select the driver matching your printer's name — check the table below to confirm you've selected the correct one.
Connection Method Printer Driver Fax Driver USB EPSON XXXXX FAX XXXXX (USB) Network EPSON XXXXX
EPSON XXXXX -YYYYYYFAX EPSON XXXXX (IP)
FAX EPSON XXXXX -YYYYYY (IP)
FAX ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ (IP)XXXXX = product name. YYYYYY = the last 6 digits of the MAC address. ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ = IP address.
-
Click Add.
Note: Once added, you won't need to add the driver(s) again unless you change connection method or use a different product. Make sure the printer is powered on and properly connected via USB or network. The fax driver can take a while to appear in the search results — wait until it's listed, then add it using the same steps.
