Epson Event and Push scan not working on macOS

Description

When using the push-scan feature on a dedicated Epson scanner or compatible All-In-One, Epson Scan may fail to open, or work only intermittently, on macOS.

Solution

  1. Confirm the latest versions of Epson Scan, Event Manager, and the ICA driver are all installed — download them from your local Epson website's Support section, or use Epson Software Updater to fetch the latest versions.

  2. If the issue continues, reset TWAIN devices in Image Capture:

    1. Search for and open Image Capture.
    2. Select File > Reset TWAIN Devices.
    3. The next time Epson Scan opens, you'll be asked to confirm it as your default scanning program — confirm this.
