How should I store the Ink Cartridges for my printer?
Description
Specific storage information for your printer's genuine Epson ink cartridges is in the HTML User's Guide that accompanies your product. For products that can be used without a computer, this is also in the printer's Basic Operation Guide.
Solution
- Store cartridges in a cool, dark place.
- After bringing a cartridge in from cold storage, let it warm to room temperature for at least three hours before use.
- Store cartridges with their labels facing upward — do not store upside down. For PictureMate cartridges, store each photo cartridge with the bottom of its packaging facing down.
Cartridge Life
Do not use a cartridge past its expiry date — this may reduce print quality. For best results, use a cartridge within six months of installing it, at a recommended temperature of 25°C (77°F).
Temperature
Specifications vary by cartridge. Most inkjet cartridges carry the following:
- Storage: -20 to 40°C (-4 to 104°F)
- Maximum 1 month at 40°C (104°F)
- Freezing: -16°C (3.2°F) — ink thaws and becomes usable after approximately 3 hours at 25°C (77°F)
