Epson Projector Disinfection Guide
Epson projectors are designed to be used in various environments. During normal operations, the products are subject to being interacted with and touched by people. In certain circumstances (e.g. COVID-19 response) it may be necessary to take additional measures to clean or disinfect the product. Epson is recommending the below listed procedure in addition to the normal cleaning procedures provided in the Epson technical reference or user guides to clean and disinfect the surfaces of Epson products as a temporary solution.

Recommended Disinfection method:
- Be sure to disconnect the power cord before cleaning
- Apply a small amount of approximate Ethanol 70% (*) to a soft cloth (Do not use higher percentage than recommended ones). Sodium Hypochlorite 0.1% (1000ppm maximum) is also appropriate but need disinfected surfaces to be wipe off with water on a soft cloth to prevent unexpected application of sodium hypochlorite.
- Gently wipe down the outer surface of the product. Take care to limit the amount of Ethanol 70% onto labels (Risk of peeling) and onto the metal part (Risk of oxidation when often disinfected).
- Allow the product to dry before reconnecting the power cord, particularly pay attention to neighbours areas of any electrical component, and also areas exposed to heat.
Specific Disinfection method for the projection lens:
- Apply a small amount of approximate Ethanol 70% (*) to a soft cloth (Do not use higher percentage than recommended ones)
- Gently wipe down the case covers of the projection lens. Take care to limit the amount of Ethanol 70% onto labels (Risk of peeling) and onto the metal part (Risk of oxidation when often disinfected).
- Apply a small amount of approximate absolute Ethanol or Anhydrous Ethanol (no water) to a soft cloth. Or use a Lens cleaner with similar disinfectant.
- Gently wipe down the optical parts of the projection lens.
- Air blower, aerosol sprays, canned air such as lens cleaner that contain flammable gases are prohibited in User’s Guide recommendation for fire risk. The disinfection should not participate to fire risk. Make sure disinfection area and disinfection cloth are far enough from the projector before powering On the projector.
(*) 70% Ethanol is different to 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (which is recommended for disinfection of printers)
